The Nfl Has Begun – Bet Now.

The latest (90th) season of America’s National Football League, the NFL began earlier this week with the Tennessee Titans facing the defending Super Bowl champions, the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz field.
The Titans finished last season with a record of 13 wins and only three losses which won them the AFC South division, however, most online bookmakers thought that their chances of winning were slim.

The online bookmakers, ExtraBet.com has given odds of 15/8 for the Nashville based team to win in Pittsburgh and BoyleSports.com, WBX.com and ToteSport.com had odds of 11/5. With even greater odds BluSq.com, VictorChandler.com, BetFred.com, 888Spot.com, SkyBet.com and StanJames.com were offering odds of 9/4 and PaddyPower.com was offering 47/20.
Even though Tennessee had won the reserve fixture last season in December by 31 to 14 a number of websites including BetDaq.com, WilliamHill.com and Expekt.com were only giving the visitors odds of 12/5 to win this time. However, Bet365.com, Coral.co.uk, Ladbrokes.com and SportingBet.com had the Titans at 23/10 whilst Betfair.com were offering 27/11.

In contrast to this, the Steelers are enjoying their success against the Arizona Cardinals last February. The online bookmakers Expekt.com have the Steelers odds of 6/19 to win and 888Sport.com, BlueSq.com, StanJames.com and VictorChandler.com gave them odds of 1/3.
Traditionally, Pittsburgh is a hard team to beat on their own turf and Coral.co.uk and PaddyPower.com gave Tomlin’s men odds of 10/29 to win. Bet365.com, WilliamHill.com and Ladbrokes.com had odds of 5/14 and BoyleSports.com, BetFred.com, ToteSport.com and SkyBet.com had odds of 4/11.

Other odds on offer for a Steelers win included WBX.com, ExtraBet.com and Betfair.com at 2/5 and BetDaq.com with odds of 7/18.

Sportingbet To Support British Horse Racing

SportingBet.com recently announced an increase in its support of British horseracing after making a voluntary payment to the Racing Levy.

SportingBet has decided to make a payment to the Levy Board worth ten percent of its gross profits on bets taken on British racing from British and European customers from August next year.

Andrew McIver the Group Chief Executive for SportingBet said that, “An important part of our UK revenue is derived from British horseracing; We have recently set ourselves the goal of increasing this revenue stream and have stepped up our sponsorship activity in British racing. We do all we can to assist the industries our customers bet on and we’re delighted to demonstrate our support of the British racing industry by committing to a voluntary payment of the Levy. This equates to the statutory payments we would make if we were based in the UK and, as a mark of good faith, we are happy to go the extra mile in agreeing that the figures should undergo an audit.”

The bookmaker has also agreed a three year sponsorship deal with the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) and will now see their name attached to the ROA Awards evening at the London Hilton on December 3rd.

Paul Dixon President for the ROA said that, “We hope this will set an example to other bookmakers who are either offshore or are planning to take part of their business offshore, We should do everything in our power to support those bookmakers who support British racing. We should now put the name of SportingBet in lights and help it to promote its business to its British customers.”

Poker Freeroll With Ziigmund To Crown The Online Forum Challenge

If there weren’t already enough reasons for future poker professionals to want to compete in the Online Forum Challenge which is being held at Power Poker later in the month there is now one more. The Finnish high stakes legend Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies will be crowning the event.

Each month a new set of Online Forum Challenge Events will be played at Power Poker, they will consist of a big freeroll and a buy-in with cash and prizes added. The best performing forums will also be awarded prizes in each tournament.

When the three months are over, any player which participated in three tournaments will have the chance to compete in the Heads Up With Ziigmund freefoll. This gives players the chance to play against a noted pro heads-up for $1,000 without any charge to the player. Ilari has earned over $5m in his career so taking $1,000 from him is not such a big deal.
The first set of the OFC Events features a $2,000 freeroll and will take place on Saturday October 24th, the next day, Sunday October 25th will see a $5 buy-in with $2,000 cash and prizes added to the prize pool. Both of these tournaments will begin at 3pm ET.

President of Global Gaming Events (which owns the Online Forum Challenge), Jason Rosenberg said that; “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Ziigmund and the entire Power Poker Team. Our events have awarded players with over half a million dollars in added prize money in the last few years, but this is probably the coolest prize so far.”
